Showering Baby Smith
To think this was a baby shower in celebration of our sweet baby boy, was a bit surreal for Kevin and myself. We could not believe this enormously exciting time in our lives had finally come and it was even more special knowing that we would have our family & friends joining us in all the fun! With this being our first child, it was important to us to be surrounded by our loved ones, especially not seeing most of them since our wedding in 2015. So it was an easy decision to make the 10 hour drive from Tennessee to our home state of Virginia...even being 30 weeks pregnant. Kevin was awesome and helped to make the back of our SUV into a safe lounge "experience" with my pregnancy pillow perfectly fluffed on the seat and even had a pillow to keep my feet raised on the center counsel. With that luxury, an abundance of snacks, & bathroom/stretch breaks every 2 hours-I was one happy mama! Best husband award definitely does to him:)
Before we get to the highlights from the baby shower, I would like to express my gratitude to those who helped make this day so beautiful and memorable. To my mama- for literally organizing the entire baby shower! Anyone who knows my mom, understands her level of hustle when it comes to organizing something special-especially when it comes to family. She does not rest until the party is over, and even then I have to remind her to treat herself to a celebratory cocktail! She is my rock and I certainly appreciate all the love she pours into these celebrations. To my dad- for always having the "hostess with the mostess" mentality down to a T. Not only is he my favorite social butterfly, but he never fails to make our guests feel loved and appreciated. He certainly is the best!! To my cousin Mariela- for making the drive from NY the night before to help set up! This lady has barely missed all the major milestones in my life & she said she definitely was not going to miss this one! To my best friend Michele- for making the whole planning and organizing process an absolute breeze for my mom and myself. She's the type of person that goes above & beyond and constantly asks if there is anything she can do to make your life easier. Her light & positivity is easily two of many reasons why we love her so much!
Lastly, to all our family & friends who joined us in celebration for Baby Boy Smith. We are so humbled by the outpouring love and warm wishes. Our boy is already so loved and he is going to be born into one amazing tribe of beautiful people. THANK YOU for making our baby shower so memorable! We will cherish these memories forever and I for one, am excited to create and share more with ya'll!!
xoxo
