Our Sweet Kora & Nursery Tour
On February 22, 2022 at 8:23pm, we celebrated the birth of our second babe, Kora Ellison.
Having her in my arms for the first time was a dream come true. Kevin and I are in the thick of that newborn bliss and we adore seeing our Avery be a big brother.
We had so much fun designing Avery’s nursery over three years ago and we knew designing a nursery for our girl would be no different. We didn’t have a “theme” in mind, but knew we wanted something warm with neutral tones and adding hints of color using textiles for some texture. Oh! And an accent wall was a must! It was between floral wallpaper or doing a board & batten/wood paneled wall and it came down to doing the wood paneling. We did a happy dance after seeing one of our first official diy projects come to life! It truly was so rewarding knowing it was for our baby girl. Once the wall was complete, everything else fell into place. We reused Avery’s crib and rattan ottomans, keeping with those neutral tones and then started adding feminine pieces with patterned pillows, blush/multi toned rug, and floral framed canvases. Once completely decorated (just a week before her arrival…lol) we sat in this space together, hugged, and were beaming ear to ear, ready to welcome baby girl.
There’s no question this is our new favorite space in the Smith Home. Here’s to never ending snuggles in Kora’s nursery & beyond!
